Isaiah 43 verse 18 and 19, a great translation from The Message Bible. ‘Forget about what’s happened. Don’t keep going over all the history. Be alert! Be present!’
You can hear God shouting that into our hearts. I want you to hear that from the actual voice of God. This is God’s plan for us. Be alert! Be present! Be alert! Be present! I’m about to do something brand new. It’s bursting out. Don’t you see it? Don’t you see it? Don’t you see it? There’s that cry again for sight and for perception. Breaking forth from our hearts unto God. There it is. I’m making a road through the desert and I’m making rivers in the bad lands. I mean rivers break forth in the bad lands of mortal life upon the earth. Rivers for us. Rivers that will keep us refreshed and rivers that will keep us fertile, fertile, fertile in the things of God. Not withered, not dried up; fertile. Abounding, prospering, in the things of God. May that fertility come into our hearts and into our minds, that fertility. Fertility means the birthing of new seed, the sprouting of new things. It’s a time of sprouting, of growing, of birthing, of hope. In the Bible hope is sprouting, faith is sprouting, doubt is withering, despair is things dying, but hope is sprouting, seeds birthing themselves again. Be alert! Be present! It’s bursting out, I’m doing something brand new, don’t you see it? Yes God, we are seeing it; we are gazing forward, and we are seeing it. We are seeing it. Amen?
